Iker Alzola is an architect and founder of the multi-disciplinary studio Elastiko.
Elastiko is a studio located in Barcelona specialising in “360-degree” architecture and design services (including concept design, feasibility studies, development, construction and adaptation). The studio supports their clients’ ideas and always responds with real solutions. Elastiko combines poetic design with pragmatic approaches, giving priority to creativity and innovation. The studio keeps up with the latest technologies and the needs of an ever-changing society.
Iker Alzola is a graduate of the School of Architecture in San Sebastián, and additionally earned a master in the Restoration and Management of Built Heritage at UPV/EHU and a master in Architectural Design from the School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB). A professional with over 10 years of experience in the field of architecture and design, he has worked with highly-renowned firms such as Enric Miralles-Benedetta Tagliabue (EMBT) in Barcelona and Fuksas in Rome. His most noteworthy achievements include participating in the design of the new Apple headquarters, Apple Park in California, and the restoration of the former thermoelectric plant Battersea Power Station, future home of the European Apple headquarters in London. Iker Alzola is a member of the COAC (the Board of Architects of Catalonia) and of RIBA (the Royal Institute of British Architects) and the Architects Registration Board in the UK. He returned to Barcelona in 2017, where he founded Elastiko.
The core values of Elastiko are the ability to adapt and analyse, as well as empathy. The studio’s main goal is to create a positive effect on the lives of everyone who experiences their designs. From the start, the architectural studio has been committed to both social and environmental responsibility, embracing a boundary-pushing creative approach.
Elastiko works throughout the region as well as across Spain and abroad, and are happy to work with you in Spanish, English and Catalan. Their services include construction, renovation, extension and interior design and architecture. Designing in styles ranging from contemporary and modern to futuristic styles, the studio handles projects encompassing passive houses, summer homes, offices and commercial buildings, among others.
